Response To Discovering A Song

I was searching YouTube for music when I stumbled upon a song titled, ‘Something Ain’t Right’ by Whisky Neat. I had it playing in the background whilst busy with something else, when I suddenly stopped and found myself paying attention to it. I found myself fascinated by this song, as it reminded me of the time I once ran away from school when I was about 10 years old. Although it’s an experience I have fond memories of (which I know might seem strange), as an adult reflecting on that experience I look at it very differently.

I wanted to use this song to create something that I felt would reflect some of this. After searching around, I found a film called, ‘Little Boy Lost’ (1978).

“The True story of Stephen Walls, a young Australian farm boy, whose disappearance galvanized a continent into action. Taught to be wary of strangers, the boy cannot know that the boisterous hordes of volunteers are his saviours and not his enemies. After four tense days, hopes wanes. At last, a group of searchers spot the young Stephen, and its members are able to convince him that they want to help him reach home and family.”

After watching this film, I decided to edit some of the scenes together with this song to create something that I felt was reflective of my feelings regarding some of my experiences in childhood.
